here we go yo.

our midwives came to the house to checkout the scenario. we were given the official seal of approval, huggy can be born at home. everything is ready and i'm to term. that ain't no basketball in my belly.

random aside...ezell's chicken is opening blocks from our house. we can't wait.

i'm a rock star.

taco is obsessed with daddy's guitar and bass. on mornings when we desperately want just a few more moments of sleep, we pull him into bed with us and instead of chilling out and waiting for the sun to rise, he sits up and points excitedly at the guitar and bass until we pull one or both of them down for him to play with. its very cute.

playdates...

one of the best things we did when taco was first born was join PEPS. its a parent support group where newborn parents meet weekly for 12 weeks and go through all their parenting highs and lows together. we have an awesome group and continue to meet on a monthly basis. taco met up w/ his PEPS buddy william this week.

now...

and then...

almost there...

week 37. cosleeper is in place (thanks phebe!), newborn gear out of storage, all the homebirth items are ready and our bags are packed, one for me and jala1 just in case and one for taco to stay w/ lolo and lola. jala1 even made a tshirt for himself that reads "you are my birthing goddess" (so sweet). the saga of obtaining vaccines has finally been resolved and our surprising champion was the pharmacist at walgreen's. now i just have to wrap up things at work and make it through this week to come to full term and all systems are go. hooray!

except...my paranoia is latent in surfacing. i've been having mini panic attacks over my lack of discipline this prego - what was i thinking eating at that all you can eat seafood buffet a couple weeks ago? what if huggy has listeria? why didn't i exercise at all, am i going to have the stamina to make it through labor? what hippie spirit has possessed me to forego DRUGS? jala1 has assured me huggy is doing fine and the labor will go smoothly.

random aside... the midwives have been encouraging me to swim. the feeling of weightless would be good for me. we went to leisure swim this weekend, a heydey for toddlers w/ sprayers AND a lazy river. good times for taco and an opportunity to ease my back pain. the downfall - feeling weightless for an hr is counteracted by 3 HRS of feeling twice as bloated as before. i'll be skipping the pool advice next time around.

all in all, we're excited, anxious and feeling almost ready. 37 weeks have flown by.
