where does the time go?
madness, just madness i tell ya. can't believe its time to go back to work again. its been 5 mths of the typical new parent highs and lows. the only spin is that WE are the new parents. woah. taco's rolling now and can almost sit up.
some miscellaneous musings...
...07.07.07. planning a wedding w/ a 3 mth old was a bit of folly but at the end of the day i wouldn't have changed a thing. the jalaxtravaganza was all we had hoped for and more. taco was the most well behaved babe, passed around endlessly without a bit of fussing. no tears even whilst rejecting satan. the food was delicious and it was awesome being surrounded by friends and family.
...pumping, HATE IT. airports are not lactation friendly and planes are even less so. i had to take over a first class bathroom to pump when i flew to philly. can't wait for taco to start on solids but we are holding off as the boobmilk is supposedly better for his immune system.
...stevie wonder was awesome. taco's first concert. gotta say his show trumped the police. thanks pedro and jo!!!
...hormones. didn't expect the hormonal flux to last so long. there were days when i was just really really sad for no reason. oh and all my hair is falling out. people had told me it would but i sure wish it would stop. people think the mommy cut is so the babe stops grabbing mommy's hair but really its a disguise for all the hair mommy has lost.
...first weeks. i may've overdone the mommy support groups. between peps in waiting, peps, and first weeks i always had someone to have coffee with or go for a walk at greenlake. i found that i had to get us out of the house for a few hrs each day or i went stir crazy. we met a lot of cool new parents and realized everyone is going through the same issues. it takes a village, no?
....maw-iage. we're coming up on a year since floozy. the past year's been a bit of life on fast forward. when it starts to overwhelm me, i'm always tempered with the thought that at the end of the day its just me and jala.1 and taco and goo. that's enough to give me warm fuzzies.
